Who is Sashi Cheliah?
Sashi Cheliah is a Singapore-born home chef from Adelaide who won MasterChef 2018 thanks to his methodical approach and delicious, spice-laden Indian and Malaysian food. 

In November 2019, he opened his restaurant, Gaja by Sashi, in Adelaide after a successful pop-up restaurant in Melbourne earlier in the year. 

Now, he shares his cooking with everyone through his Sashi’s Secret Home Chef Kits. 

Are they REALLY Sashi’s recipes?
Yes! The Sashi’s Secret range of home chef kits include Sashi’s favourite recipes to cook. 

These are the ones that have been his family’s favourite, as well as crowd-pleasers when he’s cooked for MasterChef, at events and in his restaurant, Gaja by Sashi. 

Why did Sashi make these products?
Sashi believes that cooking shows appreciation for those you’re cooking for and is a time to bond with family and friends. 

That’s why he wanted more people to be able to taste his food and to give them the tools necessary to cook with love for their own family and friends. 

What are the flavours?
Sashi’s Secret Home Chef Kits are available in 6 varieties – Malaysian Chicken Curry, Curry Laksa, Singaporean Chilli Prawn, Nasi Goreng, Sweet and Sour Pork, and Beef Rendang. Sashi has selected the ingredients focusing on quality and authenticity for a delicious mix of Singaporean and Malaysian tastes.

Is everything I need in the pack?
The Home Chef Kit contains everything you need in the pack - just add meat and veggies!

How much is it?
Each Sashi’s Secret Home Chef Kit retails for under $9 – check your local retailer for pricing. Sashi has developed the recipes and meal kits to feed 4 people for between $15 and $20 when served with a side dish such as rice. 
You can also add more veggies to fill up hungry tummies! 

Where can I buy Sashi’s Secret?
Sashi’s Secret Home Chef Kits are available Woolworths stores nationally, online and in store (in the Asian food section) plus selected independent retailers.

Can I order online?
Yes, you can order Sashi’s Secret Home Chef Kits from Woolworths online and Catch.com.au for delivery nationwide.
 
Is the product available overseas?
Thank you for your enthusiasm for Sashi’s Secret products. We’re sorry to say that they are not available Internationally right now, but if that changes, we will update you here first. Thanks for your support of Sashi’s Secret Home Chef Kits! 

How should I keep my spices & can I save unused portions of the Home Chef Kit?
Always keep the Home Chef Kits and spice packs in a cool, dry place – like a pantry. 

They do not need to be refrigerated however the packs need to be cooked when they have been opened – you can freeze any left-overs for later.  

How many servings are in a pack?
Each pack makes 4 servings. If you don't need 4 servings then you can cook the whole amount following the instructions on the pack and freeze what’s left over for future super-easy meals.

Is Sashi’s Secret Halal?
Our production team has advised that based on the product ingredient lists, the product is likely to be eligible for Halal certification however we do not currently have official Halal certification. 

This is something that we are in the process of addressing and hope to soon receive official Halal certification and add the Halal logo to the packaging. 

We always encourage our customers with religious and other specific dietary requirements to please check the ingredients carefully and make their own decision if the product is suitable.

Is Sashi’s Secret Gluten Free?
Customers with allergies should please check the label and the ingredients list and the allergen statement.

The Sweet & Sour does contain gluten because it has soy sauce as an ingredient.

The other varieties do not contain gluten however they are not strictly gluten free for people with allergies because they have been produced in a facility which processes gluten containing ingredients.

Sashi’s Secret and Allergies?
Customers with allergies should please check the label and the ingredients list and the allergen statement.

Sashi's Secret has been produced in a facility which uses peanut, soybean, sesame and seafood.

Are they vegetarian?
Please check the ingredients on the side of the pack – you’ll see that some varieties are vegetarian friendly until you add meat so just using vegetables/tofu/eggs in place of meat will make a vegetarian option. Singaporean Chilli, Malaysian Curry and Rendang Curry can be made vegetarian. Go here for more information.

Are they FODMAP friendly?
Most of the Sashi’s Secret Home Chef Kits contain garlic, so they are not FODMAP friendly.

Where is Sashi’s Secret produced? 
The Sashi’s Secret Home Chef Kits are a product of Thailand and are all made according to our strict quality standards and controls.

Are they spicy?
Because not everyone has the same tolerance for chilli, Sashi has designed his spice packs so you can control the amount of heat in the dish – spice it up with extra chilli or simply enjoy the flavours and aromas of the spices and herbs. 

How long do they take to cook?
Sashi’s Secret meals take between 15 and 30 minutes to cook depending on the variety - so you can make a delicious family meal in minutes!

Can you add other things to the recipe?
Yes! You can substitute other vegetables, meats or plant-based protein to the Sashi’s Secret Home Chef Kits. Include the ingredients you love the most and experiment with the flavours. For the traditional flavour, though, stick to Sashi’s ingredient recommendations the first time you cook the recipe to experience the taste he intended.

Can I change the Sashi’s Secret Flavours to my taste?
When Sashi designed the range he was conscious that people have different tastes. One of the things that you can try when cooking with Sashi's Secret is to try adding some more veggies or using less of the paste to balance out the flavours for personal preference.

Does Sashi's Secret contain MSG? 
All Sashi's Secret products are all natural. We do not use MSG in any of the products.
